Echoes of Time – the Past is Alive and Present
Hebe Robinson visited Norway, vintage pictures and camera in hand, a journey of retrospection and creative vision.
Fueled by her deep desire to recreate a lost way of life, she chose old photographs as her guide, then something remarkable happened. Using the photographs as references, matching up a rock here, a shoreline there, Hebe then saw it – the true vision of her mission – she began superimposing photographs taken generations ago over present day scenes of Norway.
Robinson used the photographs from the original Lofoten residents as roadmaps, then superimposed them to the present day, and the results became Echoes, connecting the photographs taken decades before with the present day locations. A retrospective that keeps the past connected to the present.
